Tell us about the proposal!
I got the ring designed and made up in Auckland, once it arrived in Christchurch I had to keep it out of sight from Jess for a couple of weeks… this nearly failed straight away when Jess unexpectedly decided to work from home the day of delivery!! We were over in Lake Brunner for a holiday over the Easter break, on our last day there we went for a walk around the lake front, we found a nice spot on the lake to park up and then I dropped the knee and Jess said yes! A complete surprise to Jess which was awesome and a day we’ll both never forget.
Tell us about The Beginning!
We met at work, we had a really close group of friends at the workplace, a few years down the track the and the attraction was initially sparked at a social club wine tour.
Our first date was a walk in the Port Hills.
Pretty soon after that we both got posted off on secondment to the UK for a few months. We’d decided that we should both just do our own thing over there and we could see how we felt about each other on return to NZ. Needless to say that never happened and by the time we were back home we both knew.
