Tell us about the proposal?
Hayden proposed when we were on a weekend away for our ten year anniversary. We had been looking at rings a few months earlier so I had thought surely it’s going to happen while we were away. I felt as if I was on edge all weekend thinking any moment it was going to happen – we went on beautiful scenic walks and a cruise around Lake Wanaka and still no proposal! I had given up hope by the last day of our trip, however we stopped for a picnic on the hill above Lake Ruataniwha overlooking where we first met and Hayden finally popped the question. There happened to be a festival going on across the lake at the rowing club so we got to celebrate with our bubbles in the sunshine with a band playing in the distance – it was truly perfect!
